recurrant blunders

the US government's recent Community Defence Initiative pursued with vigour jointly by the US occupation forces & the puppet afghanistan government in afghanistan , is essentially "old winae in a new bottle"!...trying to replicate the success achieved in iraq (through the sunni awakening movement ) in afghanistan may sound like a progressive idea...but in doing so,the US government should take a leaf out of its bitter experiance when it attempted to do just the same in the past.

the present
CDI is an echo of the mujahideen which was created by the US to counter the soviets.the verasity of the US government's projection that there are emerging groups withhin afghanistan who are highly motivated to fight against the taliban itself is questionable...if we accept the authenticity of this declaration, the next question arises as to why the US government should indeed commit another blunder by encouraging these groups against the taliban by offering ammunition, communication facilities ,rations etc ,to complement the efforts of the US forces in afghanistan.
while the US is projecting itself as a messiah "encouranging the
people of afghanistan to take responsibility for their own security"...its proven track record tells us some thing else...the strong opposition even among democrats in the senate towards allocating additional troops to afghanistan could be a plausible reason for the obama administration to resort to an alternative course of action.

while the white house thinktank has been quick to assure that mistakes of the past wont be repeated
by keeping the anti-taliban groups small and limiting the scope of their activities to protecting villages and manning checkpoints, the risk of running the anti -taliban militias could come back to haunt the US ,if the US continues to spill more afghan blood to secure its objectives instead of its own.
